The (digital) catalogue raisonné, e-manet.org is based on the strength of the attribution. The Salon Entries and Avenue de L’Alma have the strongest authenticity because Manet himself selected these paintings. Underneath each category the overview of sources for that category is explained.
This category contains all works that were submitted by Manet to the Salon and that were accepted in the period 1860-1882. The works have been attributed to this category based on their appearance in: Pierre Sanchez and Xavier Seydoux, Les Catalogues des Salons, Dijon: L’Échelle de Jacob, 2004.
